Eureka! Classics | The Great Silence [Il Grande Silenzio]
A group of outlawed settlers hire mute sharp-shooter ‘Silence’ to defend them against the bounty hunters. However, Loco – the most deadly bounty hunter – knows that the young moralistic gun-wizard will never draw unless in self defence.
A stylish, bleak spaghetti western that replaces the expected sunbleached desert locations of the genre with the snow-bound mountains of Utah.
Features a typically evocative Morricone score. The alternative happy ending never got used.
Starring: Klaus Kinski and Jean-Louis Trintigant
Music by Ennio Morricone
