Evidently I've missed something. What "hypothetical" release are you referring to? Is there information about it somewhere that I've overlooked somehow?

Thanks in advance for any info.

hi

i'm hoping for some new "old" japanese movies... ;)

YES!!!

YES!!!

There hasn't been a single Japanese release this year. Tora-San, The Family Game, Tenkosei (1982), The Castle of Sand, Naruse's Lightning, Yearning, Mother have been films I have always wanted to see. I'd be happy with literally anything Japanese!

Great stuff, can't wait for

Great stuff, can't wait for more announcements of upcoming titles. Unrealistically hoping for Buster Keaton-ness!

Portuguese "golden age" Cinema

I'm hoping for some portuguese "golden age" cinema (1930's - 1940's) in the future... I know it is almost impossible, but I would love to see some of those movies in the Series.

Japan, seconded

I'd love to see some Japanese releases to go with the already-excellent offerings.

How about

Human Nature

Stray Dog

Red Beard

Ikiru

Dark Water

Dersu Uzala

... I could go on!

Gandahar and Kwaidan

It would be cool to see more animated movies on MoC like Gandahar..

And an upgrade of Kwaidan to Bluray too!

The year info in "das

The year info in "das testament des dr. Mabuse" is wrong.. its 1933... not 2014

Great website... 3 orders in 2 days

It would be great to have a check list in our profile to keep track of our collection and share with friends

Thanks

Dersu Uzala and Kwaidan blu ray

I would give my right arm for a Dersu Uzala resoration. I believe Mosfilm have long been reluctant to let it out and the current climate cannot help.

Kwaidan is so beautiful (bought it years ago) and a blu ray treatment would enhance it enormously.

Keep up the very good work.

Both of those would be great!

Both of those would be great! Dersu Uzala is near-impossible to get even on Artificial Eye's DVD...of course any Kurosawa would be welcomed! And yes, an upgrade of Kwaidan...as well as House (Hausu) or Silence (Chinmoku).

Of course, I'm gonna keep saying the same ones I've always said...

Lumet (Dog Day Afternoon, Network)

Ashby (Being There, The Last Detail, Bound For Glory, The Landlord, Coming Home)

Malick (Days of Heaven, Badlands)

Hill (Hard Times)

Kitano (Sonatine, Hana-bi, Boiling Point, Violent Cop, Dolls, Kikujiro)

Scorsese (Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, Mean Streets)

Melville (Le Samouraï)

Jodorowsky (The Holy Mountain, El Topo)

Friedkin (Sorcerer)

Burnett (Killer of Sheep, My Brother's Wedding)

Hu (A Touch Of Zen, Dragon Gate)

Roeg (Don't Look Now, Performance)

Bogdanovich (The Last Picture Show, Targets, Paper Moon)

Weir (Witness, Gallipoli, The Last Wave)

Powell & Pressburger (A Matter of Life and Death)

Jarmusch (Ghost Dog, Broken Flowers, Coffee and Cigarettes)

Polanski (Repulsion, Knife in the Water, Cul-De-Sac)

Kaufman (The Unbearable Lightness of Being)

Zwigoff (Ghost World, Crumb)

New titles

Would love Sjostrom's The Phantom Carriage, given it's only had a Blu-ray release in the US.

Tartan own it in the UK AFAIK

MoC announced in July that

MoC announced in July that they've acquired Tokyo Tribe, Life of Riley and Last of the Unjust..

Last of the Unjust is a documentary directed by Claude Lanzmann made with unused material shot for Shoah... So I'm hoping for a blu-ray release of Shoah soon..

Blu-ray release Wish List

Some more Jean-Pierre Melville would be awesome (ideally Bob le Flambeur and Le Samourai).

Witness for the Prosecution - Billy Wilder

The Last Laugh or Tartuffe by FW Murnau

Sure what is coming will be great as always anyway

What about WCP?

What happened to World Cinema Project? I've heard Eureka has told on Facebook that the project is on hold due to copyright issues... What's the problem exactly? If it concerns just one of the movies, wouldn't it be possible to release a vol.2 with the others?

"Unfortunately at the moment

"Unfortunately at the moment due to contractual reasons the WCF2 Box Set is on hold"

Melville

Would love to see Le deuxième souffle by Melville see its long overdue DVD- or Blu-ray release. But I heard last year during a Melville-retrospective at the Amsterdam EYE Filmmuseum that there are copyright issues. The film couldn't even be shown at the retrospective.

Would love to see Kiyoshi

Would love to see Kiyoshi Kurosawa's "Charisma", "Retribution", "Pulse" and "Cure" get proper Blu-ray releases.

New titles

For anyone who hasn't seen it elsewhere, the titles for THE REST OF THE YEAR(!!!) will be announced at 11am tomorrow!

Looking forward to it, hoping for some more Murnau and Lang (sorry to be so boringly predictable) as well as DW Griffiths.

New titles

I'm following here and through Facebook!

Hitchcock

Hi  Everyone

I would Love to see more of the Early Hitchcock material for the Masters of Cinema series.  Lifeboat was excellent!  I hope to see some of the Hitchcock material that hasn't already been  covered off by other companies :)

YES!

Still waiting for the remaining Hitchcock silents to see a BD release. The restorations toured the world over three years ago, and only The Lodger has been released - what's the hold up? The Ring and especially Blackmail (silent version) are masterpieces and demand a BD release.
