THE HOUSEMAID is set to screen at festivals in the UK & Ireland ahead of its home video release

Steve-Eureka

It’s a rainy afternoon at Sa Cat Plantation in 1953. A poor orphaned girl looking for a job arrives at the gate of a wealthy mansion. She musters up enough courage to open the heavy gate and walk in… not knowing that beyond is a world full of darkness and frightening secrets.

The Housemaid (Co Hau Gai) is a haunting gothic tale which blends bold eroticism with a pervasive sense of dread, offering a captivating update on the classic horror romance. Derek Nguyen, in his directorial debut, skilfully handles sumptuous visuals and memorable scares, while building a mystery that explores the fully realised characters as well as the questionable colonial history of the locale.

The Housemaid will recieve its UK premiere as part of the 37th Cambridge Film Festival in the UK, and Irish premiere at IFI Horrorthon 2017 in Dublin, ahead of screenings at other UK festivals later in the year, and its home video release as part of the Montage Pictures range of world cinema titles in early 2018.  See below for a full list of festival screenings.  The Offical Theatrical Trailer (UK & Ireland) may be viewed here
